The 2008 LIBERTYBANK Bend WinterFest
Presented by Les Schwab
PLAN NOW TO ENJOY THE WINTERFEST
(February 8-10, 2008)
In
addition to the ever-popular ice carving
exhibitions, fireworks, Mojo Music Eruption
in the Festival Center, children's
activities at Snowflake Village, the the
ever popular U.S. Cellular snowboard and ski
rail jam, ice skating, and Arts Central
LIVE, LibertyBank Bend Winterfest will
feature an expanded Winter Wine Walk in
downtown Bend, headline entertainment at the
Tower Theatre, a larger WinterFest
Marketplace, exciting cross country ski
sprint races, and a snowman building
contest.
LibertyBank Bend Winterfest attracted
more than 40,000 visitors in 2007, and we
expect it to grow again in 2008. We
attribute the growing attendance to the
variety of activities. After arriving in
town, families can enjoy the fireworks
together on Friday evening and then adults
can explore downtown Bend while enjoying
wines from a variety of wineries at the
Winter Wine Walk. The kids can hang out at
the U.S. Cellular Rail Jam, and then join up
again with their parents to watch some
exciting cross country ski sprint races or
head to the Tower Theatre or Festival Center
to enjoy some great entertainment.
Saturday is a busy day watching the ice
carving competitions and cheering on the
cross country ski racers at our downtown
course in Festival Center. After that, enjoy
the Winterfest Marketplace and beer and wine
gardens, and plan your strategy for the
snowman building contest. There's time for a
yummy dinner before heading over to the
Tower Theatre for a special performance or
head to the Mojo Music Tent at the Festival
Center for more fabulous music. The U.S.
Cellular Rail Jam spectacle will also
continue on Saturday evening.
Sunday the whole family can relax and
enjoy some of Central Oregon's best skaters
perform at Illumination on Ice at 7th
Mountain Resort, or watch some of the
region's best artists demonstrate their
talents at Arts Central LIVE downtown. You
can also stroll through the market place,
catch a wacky mountain bike race on the
cross country ski track and still have time
to join the closing ceremonies and watch the
drawing for the WinterFest button giveaway
before heading home.
A LibertyBank Bend Winterfest button is
$6 and gains entrance to many weekend
events, and significant discounts for
tickets to other events. Many retailers
downtown also offer special discounts for
customers with a Winterfest button. Best of
all...WinterFest has a grand prize giveaway
